Is there a more powerful thing than forgiveness?

The stories of those who truly forgive are powerful enough, but those who study ethics know how important forgiveness can be for stopping the cycle of violence (in war, the death penalty, abortion, etc.)…and also as a concept which can transcend many religious and even secular traditions.

I was fortunate enough to attend a premiere of a great new documentary film simply called ‘Forgiveness’ that will air this Sunday on PBS (check your local listings for times).  I highly recommend it.  Here is a trailer:

And, P.S., if you can’t get enough of great documentary films, let me also recommend ‘Mystery of the Murdered Saints’ which premiers on the National Geographic Channel on Tuesday. It features Notre Dame junior theology professor, and Fordham Conversation Project member, Candida Moss!
